Velvet Inks: Goldleaf
Velvet Inks Goldleaf
Six Satin Acrylic Inks for Yellow-Green Shading, Filters, Weathering & Patina
Velvet Inks Goldleaf is a focused palette of rust, yellow-golds, green-golds, and deep greens designed to create natural-looking shading, smooth tonal transitions, and environmental effects. It’s equally at home painting mossy greens, aged cloth, foliage, grime, and patina (gold/brass/bronze) where green-gold tones make surfaces feel believable rather than flat.
Each ink is semi-transparent, highly concentrated, and finished with a smooth satin sheen—ideal for layering, glazing, filtering, and subtle color shifts without obscuring detail.

What You Get
- 6 × 15 ml ultra-concentrated acrylic inks
- Precision dropper bottles for repeatable dosing
- Agitator ball in each bottle for fast, consistent mixing
- High concentration: 15 ml ≈ 60+ ml of standard ink when diluted
Why This Set Works
Yellow-green tones are incredibly useful for miniature painting because they can:
- Create natural shading on greens without turning muddy
- Add environmental storytelling (moss, grime, age, staining)
- Shift temperature smoothly with transparent layers
- Bring metallics and NMM to life through reflected color, natural color and patina effects
Use them as subtle filters or bold accents depending on dilution—either way, the satin finish helps you achieve smooth transitions with strong chromatic depth.
Techniques & Applications
- Filters: Transparent layers to unify tones, add warmth, or shift temperature.
- Glazing: Build smooth modulation on cloth, foliage, leather, and organic surfaces.
- Weathering & Aging: Rust, grime, staining, and environmental buildup with controlled transparency.
- Patina: Verdigris-style effects on gold/brass/bronze, plus reflected color variation.
- Washes: Heavily dilute to shade recesses while preserving detail.
- Airbrush: Thin with water or acrylic thinner for gradients, filters, and atmospheric effects.
Velvet Inks Goldleaf is your go-to set for NMM depth—whether you’re painting living surfaces, aged materials, or metallics that need believable color and story.
