Martin Mateos - Understanding NMM: Painting Reflective Materials

We’ll study real-life examples of metallic and reflective surfaces, breaking them down to understand what we’re actually seeing and why light behaves the way it does. From there, we’ll translate that knowledge into miniature painting, using what we’ve learned to approach our own NMM surfaces with greater accuracy, realism, and confidence.

The goal is not simply to paint metal, but to understand why it looks like metal—and learn how to recreate that illusion on our miniatures.
