It is a great privilege to release a project sculpted by the Grand Master John Rosengrant Vlad III, commonly known as Vlad the Impaler or Vlad Dracula, was Voivode of Wallachia three times between 1448 and his death in 1476/77. He is often considered one of the most important rulers in Wallachian history and a national hero of Romania. Books describing Vlad's cruel acts were among the first bestsellers in the German-speaking territories. In Russia, popular stories suggested that Vlad was able to strengthen his central government only through applying brutal punishments, and a similar view was adopted by most Romanian historians in the 19th century. Vlad's patronymic inspired the name of Bram Stoker's literary vampire, Count Dracula.   Sculptor: John Rosengrant Painter: John Rosengrant Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 1/12 Number of Parts: 2 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

It is said that mankind is not alone on this earth. Written in this diary are the accounts of the horrors that the Order of Cthulhu has spread all over the world. Dating back to ancients times, The Order has always found ways to corrupt the souls of lesser men to give them as offering to their Gods. As a reward, some humans in the highest echelons of hierarchy were given the privilege to transform into their Gods' image. They started turning into creatures with tentacles, skin sometimes hard, sometimes secreting some sort of mucus. They also gained immortality. Through the centuries The Order and its practitioners have slowly but surely started shaping the world into exactly what they want.....The darkness will cover the world. Know them before it is too late.....The Order’s grasp on this world started from ancient Egypt after seducing a High priestess who desired power. Many centuries later during the height of the Roman Empire, The Order desired the skills of soldiers and none were better than Roman centurions. The Order of Cthulhu however, found great pride in turning the holy warriors of the Holy Catholic Church, the Teutonic Knights. Sightings of the dark Order were also recorded in Mexico and Peru where gold and riches were offered to the Conquistadors in exchange for their souls. Among the Order's ranks were also Samurai, drenched in blood feeding off the mutilated bodies of their enemies. Teutonic Knight: Thinking they were doing the holy work of God, they killed, maimed and hacked, slowly falling into the abyss created by The Order. Their minds frail, the Knights eventually turned to the Gods they truly revered from the start accepting their transformation.   Sculptor: Michael Kontraros Painter: Magnus Fagerberg Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 1/12 Number of Parts: 3 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

Mortal Enemies They were but a few feet from each other, they stood still; wary; alert, their weapons at the ready. They stared intensely, peering into each other`s souls, the hatred exuding from their bodies, the fire burning passionately in their eyes. They would only ever meet on the battlefield, faceless, nameless, anonymous; they are opponents; adversaries, rivals. They will fight to the death. They are "Mortal Enemies". Unfortunately, many wars have been fought throughout time, however the uniforms, armor, heraldry, and art of war remain to this day intriguing. The "Mortal Enemies" project will introduce modelers to the two sides of each war, we will carefully select interesting, colourful and exciting themes that will inspire modelers to paint, read and learn!  English Officer and Scottish Clansman - Battle of Culloden The Battle of Culloden was the final confrontation of the Jacobite uprising of 1745. Raising an army consisting mostly of Scottish clansmen along with smaller units of Irish and Englishmen from the Manchester Regiment, Charles` efforts initially met with success and at one point began to threaten London. However, a series of events forced the army`s return to Scotland, where they were soon pursued by an army raised by the Duke of Cumberland. The two forces eventually met at Culloden, on terrain that made the highland charge difficult and gave the larger and well-armed British forces the advantage. The battle lasted only an hour, with the Jacobites suffering a bloody defeat. Between 1,500 and 2,000 Jacobites were killed or wounded in the brief battle. In contrast, only about 300 government soldiers were killed or wounded.   Sculptor: Christos Panagiotopoulos Painter: Christos Panagiotopoulos Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 75 mm Number of Parts: 8 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

Fear of the Dark is the ninth studio album by Iron Maiden that was released on 11 May 1992 and it was their third studio release to top the UK Albums Chart, and the last to feature Bruce Dickinson as the group's lead vocalist until his return in 1999. It was also the first album to be produced by bassist and band founder Steve Harris, and the last album to feature the work of producer Martin Birch, who retired after its release. “Fear Of The Dark” also marks the first time in Maiden's career when the cover artwork is not by Derek Riggs. The 'new' Eddie was eventually supplied by Melvyn Grant. The band actually took the somewhat surprising step of inviting other artists as well as Eddie-originator Derek Riggs to come up with ideas for the “Fear Of The Dark” sleeve. "Fear of the Dark (live)", according to Riggs shows Eddie as Steve Harris. The artwork was also used for the Raising Hell video.   Sculptor: Michael Kontraros Painter: Francesco Farabi Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 1/24 Number of Parts: 7 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

Piece of Mind is the fourth studio album by Iron Maiden. It was released on 16 May 1983 in the United Kingdom by EMI Records and in the United States by Capitol Records. It was the first album to feature drummer Nicko McBrain, who had recently left the band Trust and has been Iron Maiden's drummer ever since. Piece of Mind was a mostly critical and commercial success, reaching number three on the UK Albums Chart and achieving platinum certification in the UK and North America.   Derek Diggs made the band’s mascot Eddie lobotomised and chained a padded cell for the cover. Diggs also pointed out on an interview that “if you look at the other cover, the one where he's burning the guy, Flight Of Icarus, that little box there, by the sun, that's Eddie's room. The padded cell.” and at the back of the Piece of Mind cover, the clouds seen through the open door symbolize the dream of freedom.   Sculptor: Michael Kontraros Painter: Magnus Fagerberg Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 1/12 Number of Parts: 3 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

  • Live After Death, Bust

Michael Kontraros Collectibles Live After Death, Bust

    13 in stock

Live After Death is a live album by Iron Maiden, originally released in October 1985 on EMI in Europe and its sister label Capitol Records in the US (it was re-released by Sanctuary/Columbia Records in the US in 2002 on CD and by Universal Music Group/Sony BMG Music Entertainment on DVD). It was recorded at Long Beach Arena, California and Hammersmith Odeon, London during the band's World Slavery Tour.   The cover art, by Derek Riggs, pictures the band's mascot, Eddie, rising from a grave. Engraved on his tombstone is a misquote from fantasy and horror fiction author H. P. Lovecraft's The Nameless City: "That is not dead which can eternal lie Yet*with strange aeons even death may die."   *The original Lovecraft text has an "and" instead of a "yet". Also engraved on the headstone is what appears to be Eddie's full name, "Edward T H--", the remainder of which (his supposed surname, "Head") is obscured by a clump of sod. The depiction of Eddie follows continuity from previous artworks. His long hair is restored and he sports the metal screw cartouche from his Piece of Mind lobotomy, which is being struck by lightning. He is also bound by metal cuffs connected by an electrical surge, as seen in Powerslave tour promotional artwork. The back cover depicts the rest of the graveyard and a city being destroyed by lightning, which Riggs states was inspired by John Martin's painting, The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Death appears in the clouds above the destroyed city; the character is a regular feature of Riggs' covers (such as "Twilight Zone", "The Trooper", “Powerslave” and “Somewhere in Time”). On the back side of the cover near Eddie's grave is a black cat with a halo, which also features in the “Somewhere in Time” and "Twilight Zone" artworks. This, said Riggs, was "not about anything really" and was added "to get people's attention". To the cat's left is a tombstone engraved with "Here lies Derek Riggs". Riggs also included gravestones that state "Live With Pride", added at the band's request to show opposition to lip-synched performances, "Here Lies Faust In Body Only", the German legend who sold his soul to the Devil (hence "in body only"), and a stone that simply reads "Thank You", representing the Grateful Dead.   The video version of the concert only contains footage from the Long Beach shows. It was initially released though Sony as a "Video LP" on VHS hi-fi stereo and Beta hi-fi stereo with 14 songs and no special features and was reissued on DVD on 4 February 2008, which coincided with the start of the band's Somewhere Back in Time World Tour. In addition to the complete concert, the DVD features Part 2 of The History of Iron Maiden documentary series, which began with 2004's The Early Days and continued with 2013's Maiden England '88, documenting the recording of the Powerslave album and the following World Slavery Tour.   Sculptor: Michael Kontraros Painter: Ivan Del Bene Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 1/12 Number of Parts: 9 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

Powerslave is the fifth studio album by Iron Maiden, released on 3 September 1984 through EMI Records in Europe and its sister label Capitol Records in North America. It was re-released by Sanctuary and Columbia Records in the United States in 2002.   The album's cover artwork, designed by Derek Riggs, is notable for its Ancient Egypt theme. That theme, taken from the title track, was carried over to the album's supporting tour, the World Slavery Tour. This began in Warsaw, Poland, on 9 August 1984, that is widely regarded as being the band's longest and most arduous tour to date, and led to the live album Live After Death.   The release contains a musical re-telling of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, the lyrics of which include some lines from the poem. At 13 minutes and 45 seconds in length, this was Iron Maiden's longest song for over 30 years until it was surpassed by the 18-minute "Empire of the Clouds" from the 2015 album The Book of Souls. Powerslave is notable as the band's first album to feature the same personnel as their previous studio release. This lineup would remain intact for two further studio releases. It is also their last album to date to feature an instrumental piece, and the only one until Senjutsu (2021) in which longtime member and guitarist Dave Murray does not have a songwriting credit.   Sculptor: Michael Kontraros Painter: Nikolas Nikki Triantafillou Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 1/24 Number of Parts: 12 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

"The Trooper" song by the Iron Maiden was released as the second single on 20 June 1983 from the band's fourth studio album, Piece of Mind (1983). It was one of only a few songs to get much radio airplay in the United States, thus peaking at No. 28 on the US Mainstream Rock charts. It also achieved success in the United Kingdom, peaking at No. 12 in the UK Singles Charts as well as gaining a much better reception than the band's previous single, "Flight of Icarus". Written by bassist and founding member Steve Harris, the song is based on the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava 1854, which took place during the Crimean War, and inspired by Lord Tennyson's 1854 poem of the same name. The track has been the subject of much praise since its release, with AllMusic describing it as "an all-time genre classic that boasts guitarists Dave Murray and Adrian Smith's most memorable harmonized lead riff, plus that trademark galloping rhythm," while Mick Wall comments that it is the song "which most Maiden fans from those days still recall first when you mention the Piece of Mind album." Despite the popularity of the song, it was the single's B-Side, a cover of Jethro Tull's "Cross-Eyed Mary", which managed to gain a substantial amount of airplay on US radio, becoming one of the band's few tracks, along with previous single "Flight of Icarus", to do so.   It’s quite an atmospheric song as the opening in “The Trooper” is meant to try and recreate the galloping horses in the charge of the light brigade. The first verses show the soldier’s patriotism: He’s willing to die if he can take an enemy with him. “Run you through” regards various kinds of blades – swords, spears (the presumed weapon of a light cavalryman) and bayonets installed atop the rifles to stab approaching enemies. And as the trooper dies, he feels lonely on the ground and slowly fading to death. Despite this feeling of emptiness and being “forgotten,” he dies without regret or fear. A regular fixture in the band’s concerts, vocalist Bruce Dickinson has always waved a Union Flag during live performances. And, more recently, has begun wearing an authentic red coat uniform which would have been worn during the battle on which the song was based.   Eddie sheds his tatty jeans-and-T-shirt combo for the first time, changing into a smart red cavalry uniform for arguably his most popular incarnation – the Trooper tattoo taking pride of place on Steve Harris’s forearm. There is something highly stirring about this image of bullish resilience, but Riggsy reckons its appeal is more simple: “I think this is popular because it has a lot of red and blue in it,” insists the artist. “The other covers don’t have much red. I resist using red just for the sake of it (can you put more blood in it Derek… whinge whinge).”   Sculptor: Michael Kontraros Painter: Chris Panagiotou Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 1/24 Number of Parts: 12 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

Four sisters, four queens, four scourges upon humanity. They were brought into this world as quadruplet sisters from the womb of one mother, but they were the seed of four different fathers. As soon as they were born, they were torn from their mothers’ bosom, and handed to Persephone; the goddess Queen of the Underworld. They suckled at her teat until they were old enough to be unleashed as a plague upon the world, to rule, devour and haunt the living.  She could transform into a werewolf whenever she wanted, for she was the Werewolf Queen. She controlled the powers that drove mortal men crazy with hunger, lust, and hostility. Living in the Hindu Kush she had nourished herself on human and creature alike for many millennia.  Over time she honed and expanded her powers, building a cult of lycanthropes, willing to do her every bidding. These creatures were her children, her soldiers, her slaves, they would kill upon command, be it living creature or undead ghoul. The Werewolf Queen ruled over her children with a love never seen, and when the time came, her followers fought ferociously to protect their Queen from the encroaching enemies. Living in the shadows and the darkness, the Werewolf Queen and her children could be anyone and anywhere. So be careful when you walk down dark alleys, you could become dinner for a hungry werewolf or with just one bite you could become one more child of the moon!    Photos by Stelios Demiras (Mr Black Publications)   Sculptor: Michael Kontraros Painter: Kyriakos Simos Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 54 mm Number of Parts: 6 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse appear in the New Testament’s last book, the Book of Revelation written by John of Patmos. In God`s right hand is a scroll that is sealed with seven seals. The Lamb of God (Jesus) opens the first four of the seven seals, summoning four terrible beings that ride out on white, red, black, and pale horses. These four riders bring upon the world the divine apocalypse and are released upon humanity as harbingers of the Last Judgment. During the End of Times, humanity will encounter these horsemen and will know death, disease, famine, and many more trials. Death — Revelation 6:7-8 When the lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, ‘Come!’ As I looked, there was a pale horse, and its rider’s name was Death. Hades followed along behind him. They were given authority over a quarter of the earth, to kill with the sword, and with famine, and with death, and by means of earth’s wild animals.   Sculptor: Michael Kontraros Painter: Chris Panagiotou Material: High Quality Resin Scale: 54 mm Number of Parts: 10 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

The vampire is a creature from folklore that lives by feeding on the blood of the living and is known for its manipulative nature; this theme has been held in common throughout the many adaptations.  In European folklore, vampires are undead creatures that often-visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighborhoods they inhabited while they were alive.  From these tales spawned a myriad of genres including vampire literature, horror fiction, gothic fiction, and invasion literature, theatrical plays, films, and television interpretations. The most iconic are Dracula, the 1897 Gothic horror novel by Irish author Bram Stoker, as well as the 1922 film Nosferatu staring Max Schreck. In this cinematic portrayal we see the most iconic depiction of Nosferatu, Dracula or Vampire!   Sculptor: Michael Kontraros Painter: Chris Panagiotou Material: HQ Resin Scale: 1/10 Number of Parts: 3 Unpainted - Unassembled Model Kit

Born of high standing, the Elf Dragon Prince maintains all the characteristics of his kin. He fervently believes that the human species is inferior (and rightly so), he is dedicated and passionate for the causes he cares about, but contrary to most elves he found magic at a very early age.  Interwoven into nearly all aspects of their daily lives, magic is an integral part of an elf’s life. Whether he is 75 or 1000 at some time in his life magic will find the path and present itself to each and every elf.   For the Elf Dragon Prince this happened when he was a very young 50 years old – hunting in the forest a melody suddenly came upon his elvish ears…it was irresistible, beautiful, hypnotic. He followed the sound into a dark cave, where a glowing light illuminated a single egg. The last time a dragon egg had been discovered was almost 50,000 years ago. At that moment in time The Elf Dragon Prince was ordained as one of the most powerful magic users in the land. It was his destiny to raise the dragon and hone his magic skills, it was his destiny to lead the cream of High Elf cavalry and be first amongst them to ride into battle. He was the first Elf Dragon Prince in over one hundred millennia to have a dragon…he was the true “Elf Dragon Prince”.
